Donor Relationship Status: It’s complicated

Adrijana Kowatsch, VP of Development and External Relations at Gateway Community & Technical College, advises how to develop those deep interpersonal relationships, yet keep them professional and focused on your organization’s mission.

Adrijana Kowatsch is Vice President of Advancement and External Affairs at Gateway Community and Technical College, where she also serves as the Executive Director of Gateway Foundation. 

Adrijana’s development experience is extensive and includes fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship, board relations, event planning, and grant writing.  Adrijana started her fundraising career at the University of Cincinnati Foundation as a Development Officer in 2008.  Since then, she has worked in higher education administration and in advancement roles on multimillion dollar campaigns.

Adrijana has also taught as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication at the University of Cincinnati, where she was recognized as Alumni Champion in 2014. She was named Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 award recipient in 2014. She was a member of class IV of the Cincinnati Chamber’s C-Change program and is a graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky program. She presently serves as a Commissioner on the Hamilton County Commission on Women and Girls and is a member of Northwest High School’s Personal Finance Business Advisory Committee.

Adrijana earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati. She lives with her husband and son in Montgomery, OH.
